"Born in Saskatchewan, Canada, Dr. Bradford started his career as a school teacher. He served with the Canadian Army during the first World War in Africa and Europe, became a captain in a machine-gun unit, and was decorated with the Military Cross and Victory Medal.
After the war he studied at Temple University, where he received a degree of Doctor of Sacred Theology. He served as pastor of a church in Tilbury, Canada until 1926, when he came to Bogota. He was a Mason." Magnus Andrew Bradford was also known as Rev. Magnus was born Magnus Andrew Sigurdson Breidfjord. A Doctor of Sacred Theology (DTS), the highest degree possible to earn. Dad was angry about their stupidity, so Mother had no trouble getting him to change to Bradford. I know it was done before he applied at Tilbury, and Brian looks to be about 2 years old in some pictures taken there. Mother and Dad were married in July, 1915. She must have got pregnant on her honeymoon, because she had a miscarriage, at 2-1/2 to 3 months, in late October. Later - a year or more - she was pregnant and I think the baby was stillborn or lived only few minutes. Mother thought the baby's position was wrong, and the doctor tried to turn it. Probably not a breech, because I doubt if the doctor could have managed such a difficult procedure. Possibly a brow first, or some such. This infant was Eileen Patricia Breidfjord.
