Round ten sees tight points races.

January 2, 2005 Lawrenceville GA-  Round 10 will see several points races come to a close.  This is the final round of the GACFL GS class, and should be a competitive run.  Second place runner Rm4two Racing has only a 2 points gap to Racerfink after missing round 9.  BnC Racing has only a 3 point lead on Dallas for 4th spot.

In the manufacturers race, Audi has locked up second place, while Ford and Subaru are tied for the 3rd spot.

Dallas will have to outscore bill by 4 points to take 4th position, but whoever finishes ahead will claim the coveted 3rd spot for their manufacturer.

Round nine, major accident takes out contender.

January 2, 2005 Lawrenceville GA-  Round 9 began in tragedy when the #36 Fink Motorsports Camaro had an accident on the front straight on lap 1.  Coming over the crest and seeing the car sideways at the last second, the #13 Subaru, which had been running poorly all weekend, collided with the Chevy, causing severe damage to both.  Bill ended up going a lap down getting repairs made, while the #36 managed to get back out before going down a lap.

"I'm really disappointed in myself for having that accident" Fink said "I had been running up front or near the front all day, and this happens on the first lap."

The win went to the #14 CKC Racing Camaro, but not without a fight from the #53 Koolkat racing Camaro.  The two battled back and forth and Koolkat, although losing the race, managed to get fast lap by a mere .003 seconds.  The two cars tied the round for points after qualifying and race points were added.

Break out the Champagne, the championships have been decided!

Congratulations CKC Racing!!  -  In dominating fashion, this years trophy belongs to Chad, of CKC racing.  Winner of 5 of 8 races thus held, the points lead he maintains made him the mathematical winner since the last round, and perhaps further.  Job well done, your superhuman consistency is not only amazing, but highly annoying too!  Great job!

Congratulations Chevrolet!! - Chevy's performance this year was even more consistent and ridiculous then that of CKC racing.  Winning 7 of 8 rounds of the championship, they easily have the series locked up.

Points race? -  Rm4two and Racerfink have a mere 10 points separating them from 2nd and 3rd place in the series standings.  Fighting for 1st of the true losers is Buckeyebreezer and BnC racing with only 2 points between 4th and 5th.

Manufacturer's podium? - 1st and 2nd are locked up by Chevrolet and Audi.  3rd place sees a 3 point difference between Ford and Subaru, with ford holding the 3rd spot.

The final two rounds will decide the fate of these final positions...don't miss it!!

Round nine will be one to forget.

I don't know what to say about this track.  I hate it.  That being said, I am sure to continue on my last place streak!!

Racerfink wins a round, CKC racing barely on Podium!

Round eight saw a different outcome than most are used to.  The #36 Camaro of Racerfink took the top step, followed by the Audi of Rm4two racing.  Rounding out the podium was the #14 CKC Racing Camaro.  Breezer Motorsports made another strong showing, running a fast lap near that of the winner's.

Round Eight sees the GACFL in Japan.

December 12, 2005-Lawrenceville, GA-  The GACFL takes another long trip overseas, this time to Japan for the Historic, but short, Tsukuba Circuit.  This 1.287 mile road course is used primarily for testing and motorcycle races but held a wildly popular GACFL ST race last year.  "The people really identified with the cars of the series" Series President Bill said earlier in a teleconference "The field was full of Japanese makes, this time it's a little different with mostly American muscle."  The field of American, German and one Japanese make will hit the track on Thursday, December 15 at 9pm EST.

The #13 BnC Racing Subaru should prove to be the crowd favorite since it is the only local make being raced this year.  "We are contemplating a new paint scheme to capitalize on our upcoming fame" says team principal and driver, Bill.  "Hopefully a good finish will come out of it!"

Also running, and sure to be a tuner crowd favorite, is the upcoming Spec.Damntacular Miata class.  These are twin turbo 2-rotor powered monstrosities that weigh in just under one ton.  The track is not very well suited to them, but the crowd and the drivers are expected to have a blast!

Series future debuted in Paris today:

December 12, 2005 Paris France-  The series debuts its future star.  The Spec. Miata Super Sport coupe.  This car makes just over 300 hp with its twin turbo-2 rotor from RX-7 fame.  Weighing in at just under a ton, the car has incredible performance.  0-60 times are just over 4 seconds with a top speed near 160 mph.  The car can pull over 1g at 60 and 120 mph.

"We heard some other make was going to show their car too, but everyone seemed pretty interested in this one!" Commented series President Bill.

"I never did get through the crowd at our booth to see the other car, anyone have an idea

what it was?" He responded.  The Spec. Miata series had a short exhibition race last round with 3 prepped cars showing up.  This weeks race at Tsukuba could see upwards of 5.  "We are very excited about this series, it moves us in a different direction, but I believe cars like this are the future of motorsport." said Competition Director Chad.  "With a turbo upgrade this car could probably raced in some series' GT ranks"

Ford grabs 3rd spot in Manufacturer's Race!

Saturday, December 10, 2005-After Round 7 points had been tallied, Ford has taken the 3rd place spot in the Manufacturers championship, edging out Subaru by one point!.

Ford Driver, Dallas' Breezer Motorsports has been systematic in bringing the Blue Oval to the podium, and therefore closer in the race for the coveted manufacturer's cup.

"I cannot tell you how pleased I am to hear this!" Dallas responded, "We are proud to wave the Ford banner and hope to maintain this position and even move up a bit!"

Round seven in the books.

Round seven proved to be an all day struggle for the #13 team.  "I really don't get it, the car was awesome in testing, running times within .3-.5 of the leaders.  In the race, the car handled well, but throughout the 'weekend' it was a total dog."  remarked a dejected Bill, "The lap 24 incident sealed the deal, I parked the car on the inside of turn 1 and just waited the checker to fall, the car was a write-off"

The #13 lead the race early, being overtaken by the #14 into the second lap.  The car continued to fall and made some contact with the tire barrier into the chicane complex, luckily not incurring damage.  #53 also had a tire wall incident, so the two cars had someone to fight with the whole time.

The race against the 53 and 13 was a good one, the #13 stretching out an 8 second lead, and then having problems, dropping back to about a 2 second lead.  The entire race (lap 2-24) was a back and forth between the two cars.  When the 53 suddenly appeared sideways in front of him, Bill knew the race was done.

This marks the second race in a row that the Breezer Motorsports #78 Mustang reached the podium, an elated Dallas sees a bright future in the league.

The race was won by the #14 Camaro, with the #4 Audi in second place.

Round seven a long trip for a great facility.

December 6, 2005 Lawrenceville GA-  The upcoming round for the GACFL takes us all the way to Switzerland for the Alpine Ring.  This track is among the favorites for the competitors in the league.  "It really is a shame such a world class facility has to be half way across the world or I would test here all the time." says series president, Bill.

The track is a challenging, but fast 2.21 miles.  This facility hosted the famous ST round last season where the product "Slippery Bill" was invented.  The #14,#99 proteges and the #13 Acura were traveling through the chicane section at a high rate of speed, the resulting crash sent Chad into the tire wall and spinning through the air.  Rm4Two Racing's Derrick ended up winning the round by a large margain.

"I look to improve on my 3rd. place from last year and will try not to cause any major collisions" says Bill.

Round six a hard fought battle.

Over the course of 25 laps, over 75 miles, the race to the finish was very close.  In the final couple laps, the CKC Racing #14 powered past the #36 Fink Motorsports Camaro.  The tires and setup were just no match for the mighty, points leading #14 Camaro.  The podium also saw a new face, the Breezer Motorsports #78 Mustang GT.  The car was revived after sharing some trade secrets with the points leading team.  "The new car is just amazing" responded Dallas, "I love Rio!!".  The #4 Audi had some car to wall contact, pushing it back in the order, off the podium for the first time in a while.  The #13 Subaru did superbly horrible and finished well behind in 5th.  Rounding out the finishers was the Mini Racing #6 Mustang, finally making its return to the series.  "I shouldn't have come back on such a difficult round" replied Rich.

Round six a test of man, machine and morality.

November 24, 2005 Lawrenceville GA:  The GACFL heads to South America for round 6, La Circuit de Rio.  This round is the longest scheduled event on the GACFL schedule.  A 25 lap event consisting of a necessary 2 pit stops.  Due to length it will be a double point event.

The circuit, a just over 3 mile street circuit features long flowing straights and the typical street course 90 degree curves.  The track is exceptionally wide, but due to the length of the race (nearly 1hr) patience, skill, endurance and speed will be tested.

The only saving grace for those that get into the walls is the fact that they have two opportunities to stop and fix the damage.

Round six goes down on December 1, 2005.  Be there!!

Round Five results in less drama then expected!

Round 5 experienced the lowest turnout of the season.  The expected carnage of such a short track with such varying handling cars therefore did not occur.  It was actually a very clean event, throughout practice and leading up to the 25 lap feature.

The CKC Racing #14 Camaro scored the win with an 11 second lead on the 2nd place #4 Audi of Rm4two Racing.

The Audi had a Subaru WRX in its mirrors almost the entire race.  As a matter of fact the 2.5 second differential at the end of the race was probably one of the greatest gaps between the two cars from lap 5-25.

The #78 Mustang had issues at the beginning and could not contend thereafter.

Dallas of Breezer Motorsports stayed at the track along with CKC racing after the event.  "Chad showed me how to set the car up, it is like an all new machine!" commented Dallas.  "I feel we will be a strong contender at the next round" he continued.

Round 6 will be the longest race of the season, a 25 lap 2 stop enduro on the streets of Rio.

Round Five a whole new challenge.

What is it about a track that just over a mile long, only has a few turns, has well sub 1 minute lap times and tight confines a challenge?  All of the above?  Yes, and more.

Tomorrow night's round at Maple Valley short will be a test for all teams involved.  The race will not require a pit stop, but the last 3-5 laps will require focus as the tires will be very well worn.

The confines of the track do not promote passing without incident, and there is simply not enough room for many alternative lines.

Yes, my friends, and future enemies, round 5 will be a doozy.

Round four a big hit with the fans...

November 11, Lawrenceville GA:  Round 4 ended in some controversy yesterday.  On lap 6/7 the CKC Racing #14 Camaro stopped for its mandatory stop.  It re-entered the race track and got to the right side of track centerline.  The #13 WRX saw the car move towards the center of the track and juked right to avoid hitting the Camaro.  The #14 saw the WRX coming and moved right to avoid hitting it.  The collision occured at 138 MPH and was a heavy rear impact.  This took the #14 Camaro out of contention, and eventually out of the lead.  The #13 was still able to pit, but ended up in last place as the body damage seriously affected aero.

The race, won by Koolkat Racing's #53 Camaro, was decided on lap 9 when the CKC machine could not manage competitive lap times after the impact.  This marks the 3rd different winner in 4 races in the series and a brand new winner for KoolKAT.  The #53 Camaro started last and finished first, a truly first rate job!!

The #78 Mustang also had a strong run early, contending for top position in the opening stages.  As time went on the car slipped back in the back, but much promise was shown from the Mustang.

#36 Camaro from Racerfink Motosrports finished 3rd, another strong finish by this team which should put them up in the standings.

Next round is scheduled for Thursday, November 17th at the short and deadly Maple Valley Short course.  It is a 25 lap non-stop sprint.
