What I looked like

www.hardrockin80s.com Ciao-Baby! What's the Mozart Effect? Complex music (yes, even rock) causes the brain to react in a positive way, increasing "higher brain function." (so take that you, rock hate-mongers!) My thanks go out to all the fans that have supported and helped the Hard Rock scene. Hit me up for friends (click below)

Well, if you made
it here, that
means you are not afraid to bang heads
with the rest of us! Welcome! Hi, I am Metalin' Mary and a Disc Jockey at a hard rock station, bringing. I'll spin for you the best in Hard Rock and Roll music, new and old. Listen to my show and you will hear everything from 80's Hair bands to the 70's bands, from head-banging music to its 70's predecessors, of which 80's bands, built on. Before Rap and the Seattle grunge bands killed rock-n-roll, we had the privilege of living through the best, the music world had to offer – 70's and 80's music. Back in the day, bands wore tons of makeup and took longer to get ready for the show than me!! All that blow-drying, moussing up their hair, and makeup took them awhile. The guys and girls had killer bodies restrained only by the shiny spandex and leather they wore. The music was hot and so were the ladies. Back then, everyone got dressed up to go out clubbing. The uniform: black pleather mini-skirts, cleavage revealing, black diamond accented boustiers, sexy stockings, tons of bracelets and jewelry....and of course BIG hair! Background Growing up in the midwest in the 70's, I used to get together with other local, aspiring musicians for Jam Sessions where I picked up most of my rock guitar playing. These were usually held at my house, since I was the only one with an amp and I owned 3 guitars. "Smoke on the Water," "Barracuda," "Pinball Wizard," and "Stairway to Heaven" were pounded out daily, until we got it right. When we weren't playing guitar, we could be found at local hockey arenas for what was called Arena Rock Bands and Monsters of Rock tours that filled baseball stadiums. These places often held 22,000 screaming, gyrating fans. You could openly smoke and drink and not be hassled. Highschool and CYC dances would showcase bands that came out of our Jam sessions. Sometimes called Garage Bands, they were never short of insistence on becoming the next BIG band. Some of them did. Much to pundits' dismay, hard rock'n'roll bands are here to stay. Take your whiny, "poor is me, life sucks, I-wish-was-dead" whining bands and geeks with no talent and flush them down the toilet, for Hard Rock'n'roll is here to stay!!!! Make it your mission to turn somebody new on to our brand of guitar rock. We're not going away! There are so many new bands on the market that play music in the Hard Rock, Prog Rock, Metal, etc. genre. Come inside and find some of the current, coolest bands from all over the world. And if you get in touch with any of these guys, tell 'em Metalin Mary sent ya! I am currently interested in hearing from female musicians and Hard Rock bands with new work. I need some more material for my Woment of Rock show and I'd love to get you in for an interview, to introduce you to my listeners. I also accept current bands that play in the aforementioned style of hard rock. I will do what I can to introduce your band to my listeners. If you fall in this category, by all means Contact Me! Don't Be a Stranger! Book mark this page, and check back often, as you may find a request for your band to be the Band-of-the-month! See you at the clubs....
