Shenhar of Israel has agreed to serve as head coach for the national men's team
at the South Pacific Games in Fiji. He will be assisted by Tod Rutstein of the

Shimon Shenhar will serve as head coach for the national team. He has a
long and distinguished career as both a player and a coach at the highest
levels of football in Israel. The youngest player to serve on the Israeli
national men's team (at age 16) and the youngest to serve as head coach in
Israel's first division league, Shenhar is widely respected in Israel for
his football knowledge and experience as well as his unique coaching
style. Retired from coaching in Israel, Shenhar is currently the Technical
Director of the prestigious Wingate Institute of Sport in Israel. Shenhar
previously guided the Federated States of Micronesia's national team to
victory in the Micronesia Cup held in 1999. He has continued to support
Micronesian football since then, having served as the Technical Director
of the football venue of the Federated States of Micronesia Games held in
2001. |

Tod Rutstein will serve as Assistant Coach for the
national team during their participation in the South Pacific Games.
Rutstein has played and coached at various levels throughout his career.
He served as the head coach for Micronesia's national men's team last year
during the historic series of friendly matches with Genova Lex of Italy.
In addition, Rutstein continues to play and coach football at the club and
scholastic levels in the United States. He is well known by most of the
top level players in Micronesia and will certainly be a valuable asset to
Shenhar and the entire team, both before and during the national team's
sojourn in Fiji. |
