Questions for Bush

Some Questions for President Bush

Under the "Advise and Consent" provision of the Constitution, the Senate has the right and the duty to hold public televised inquiries to ask the following of President Bush while under oath:

  1. Is it not true that in a January 31, 2003 press conference Adam Boulton of Sky News (London) asked: "Do you believe that there is a link, a direct link, between Saddam Hussein and the men who attacked on September the 11th?" and that you replied "I can't make that claim."

  2. Is it not true that Osami bin Laden is a Saudi Arabia national and Muslim fundamentalist? What evidence is there that Saddam Hussein has ever provided direct support to Muslim fundamentalist governments?

  3. Did you then or do you now have any evidence of a direct link between Saddam Hussein and the September 11 attack? If so, what is it?

  4. If you had overwhelming evidence, as you claimed, that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, why, after several months of U. N. inspections and a continuing war, have none ever been found? In the desperate struggle of the Iraqi military against American invaders, is it not reasonable to assume that Saddam Hussein would have used weapons of mass destruction if he had indeed possessed them? Yet not a single chemical, biological, or nuclear weapon was used against U. S. forces. How do you explain that?

  5. Please explain exactly how American involvement in the Iraq war has provided increased protection for United States citizens against terrorist attack.

  6. The resolution passed by Congress authorized you to commit armed forces only if necessary for self defense against a clear and immediate threat of war, or if the opposing state had weapons of mass destruction. The evidence seems quite clear that you exceeded the limits of the authority granted by Congress, resulting in an extreme cut back of essential U. S. programs and untold death and suffering for thousands of persons. Can you provide any reason why you should not be impeached?
