        Quizzing Format:

                Searcher & Discovery

                    20 Questions:

                                    10- 10 point questions

                                    7-   20 point questions

                                    3-   30 point questions

-         Answering 6 questions correctly in a match is called a quiz-out and the quizzer leaves the match and is given 10 bonus points.

-         Answering 3 questions incorrectly is a called a reverse quiz-out an the quizzers leave the match.

-         If a quizzer buzzes in before the Quizmaster finishes reading the question then the quizzer must finish the question and give the answer.

-         Answers to Quotation Questions must be recited word for word with out stuttering, repeating, or adding other words to the quote.

-         Answers to questions are judged correct if they contain the main idea of the answer

-         Words in the brackets of the answer are optional for a quizzer to learn.

                       

Pee Wee

                20 questions:

 All ten point questions

-         Answering 4 questions correctly in a match is called a quiz-out and the quizzer leaves the match and is given 10 bonus points.

-         No reverse quiz-outs in pee wee- coach takes children off the buzzer at his/her own discretion.

-         Rules for the Pee Wee league are less strictly enforced for pee-wee quizzers due to their younger age.

 

 

Transportation:

We provide 15 passenger vans for transportation to meets.  We need parents to drive these vans to the meets. Parents can also transport their own children to the meets but are strongly encouraged to follow the church vans.  Maps will be provided at the church in the morning of the meet

 

What to Bring:

                        At least one PARENT to help official

Officials

    For each team of four we are required to bring 1 coach and 2 officials

      We must have at least one parent to help fill these positions:

Quiz master- runs each match- reads questions judges answers

Judge- verifies that quizmaster is following rules, can call for a group judgment of answers         

Scorekeeper- records all points during the match to determine the winner

Timekeeper- limits quizzers answers to 30 sec.
