So does anyone know when and where the show will be broadcast in the
San Francisco Bay area?

Well, here in the SF Bay area it was broadcast last Friday night.
Strangely enough, of the 2 PBS (Ch. 54 & 60) stations that broadcast ACL,
only 1 of them broadcast the Cohen episode, the other broadcasting some
other ACL episode. It's strange because normally both stations show
the same episode at the same time (which one would expect if they
were working off of the same syndication package). So Ch. 54 may broadcast
it this week instead, as may Ch. 6 in Sacramento, since for some reason
it is normally a week behind. (Apologies to those of you not in the
SF Bay area for boring you with this).


At any rate, I caught the whole thing on tape. It's pretty good - 12 songs,
1 hrs. worth. It's a repeat from 1989. A little strange by Austin City
Limits standards, but safe enough to show your parents. If anyone wants
a copy, either video or just the audio portion, let me know and we can work
something out.

    In the San Francisco Bay area, Austin City Limits is on Sunday nights
about 9 or 10, channel fifty-something I think (sorry 'bout imprecision).
    Last night--2/27--we caught some of Merle Haggard on it.

    In the SF Bay area Austin City Limits is on KCSM, channel 60, Sunday 9:00
and a repeat Tuesday 11:00 pm. KCSM is the good local PBS station; it has no
obnoxious pledge breaks.

    For those in the WNY or Southern Ontario: WNEQ in Buffalo (Channel 23)
will air the Leonard Cohen ACL performance on April 8th at 9:00 PM.
    Also - I spoke with someone at the HMV Toronto store. He told me that the
new live album is now tentatively scheduled for release in May.
