Welcome to my website. My name is Garry
Stewart. I enjoy motorcycling, photography and software
development, and this is my little corner of cyberspace
where I try to merge these interests.
When I take motorcycle trips I always take the less traveled
roads and try to find interesting places along the way.
I enjoy the “twisty” roads of the mountains, and I am close
enough to the North Georgia Mountains to be on some really
great motorcycle roads in about an hour. On weekend rides
I regularly venture into the Georgia, North Carolina, South
Carolina and Tennessee mountains. I almost always have a
camera with me and if I see something interesting I’ll stop
and take a few pictures.
I hope you find my pictures, ride trip reports and website
interesting. This website changes frequently as I keep it updated with my latest rides
so check back often.
Thank you for visiting the GA-Rider.
These pages include all the rides both Goldwing and BMW GS Adventure rides.
They are day rides, weekend trips and some extended rides.
Adventure Rides - These are BMW GS off-road rides that include gravel roads and sometimes even less.
These pages are interesting photos I've taken and
may be about anything.
They are often taken on motorcycle trips, but may be
from car trips or taken in my backyard.
I searched around the Google Themes for something I liked that either featured mountains or motorcycles or preferably both. I found a few that were ok, but I wanted something else. So I decided to write my own.
If you have ever been on highway 180 near Suches, Georgia,
you may have noticed this old building. One day the
fall colors were particularly brilliant when I took
a picture my Goldwing in front of the building.
This picture was taken near the top of the Richard B.
Russell Parkway in Georgia. The ice was cracking and
falling like a “calving” iceberg. It was a fantastic
sight, and yes it was cold.
I took this picture near Tiger Georgia. No motorcycle
in this theme, just beautiful fall colors.
This theme is a collection of 12 images taken of the
New River Gorge and bridges in West Virginia. The picture
and color scheme changes ever hour.
