Highline Trail

Leave one car at the "Loop Trail" on the way to Logan Pass and take the other car on up to Logan Pass where the Highline Trail starts... hike on the Highline Trail to the Granite Park Chalet... awesome views all the way... it's 7 miles to the Chalet... but you only have to gain a few hundred feet of elevation... energetic folks could scramble up to the lookout on Swiftcurrent Mountain while others relax at the Chalet... you finish the hike by dropping 2500 feet in 3.5 miles to the "Loop Trail" where you left the first car on the way to Logan Pass.

If you don't have at least two cars for this trip, there is a shuttle bus service that will pick you up and take you back to your car at Logan Pass, if you bought a ticket the day before.

One of the nicest features of this trail is that it is primarily out in the open, mostly at or just above treeline from Logan Pass to the Granite Park Chalet. Watch for bighorn sheep, mountain goats, grizzly bears and ground squirrels on this hike.

I would recommend an early start for this hike because it is arguably the most popular hike in the park.
