Peak to Peak Trail and Wilderness Links

This page is here to share with you some of the other hikes that we've enjoyed in the Whites. There are so many gorgeous places to enjoy that, even if you don't end up on a wind swept open summit you'll still get some degree of view or "peek" at something. I've broken it into to categories, Peaks With Peeks which are hikes to some type of mountain summit. It may not be that magical 4000 feet but it'll still have a summit area with enjoyable views. The other category is Peeks Without Peaks. These are hikes to ponds, ledges etc. that will still provide you with some very interesting things to see and most likely even a good view. It just won't be from a summit!

If you'd like more info on these hikes or want to be able to find great new hikes of your own, then you definitely need to get a copy of the AMC White Mountain Guide. It is by far the best source for information about the Whites and even comes complete with maps of the area. If you still have questions, then please drop me some mail and I'll see if I can help!

Chocorua3500Chocorua NHIf you don't mind crowds or if you do it at the right time this is a spectacular mountain with a fantastic 360 view!
Morgan & Percival2200+Sandwich, NHTwo really fun little mountains with great views of Squam Lake and beyond. There's even a tiny bit of "caving" to enjoy here!
The Rattlesnakes1200+Sandwich, NHFor a mile of walking without much vertical rise you get a great rocky summit with fantastic views of Squam Lake. This is a great summer walk to take those that aren't hikers on!
Sandwich Dome3980Waterville Valley, NHOne of the best sub 4k peaks we've hiked. Open ledgy areas on the way up make you feel higher than you are and a small open summit make this a real favorite!
Welch & Dickey2605 & 2734Waterville Valley, NHTwo "small" mountains that really have the feel of much larger mountains. The open rocky areas and a couple of minor scrambles really give these two the feel of mountains twice their height!

Imp Face3165Pinkham Notch NHFantastic view down the notch and especially of Dolly Copp Campground
Goodrich Rock2500Waterville Valley NHGreat views from Goodrich Rock and generally just a varied and interesting trail
Greeley Ponds2200Waterville Valley, NHThese two small ponds have become our favorites in any season of the year. Gorgeous setting with the ledges of the East Peak of Osceola on one side and the ledges of Mount Kancamagus on the other.
The Scaur2250Waterville Valley NHDecent view from a small rock outcropping. We often enjoy combining this with hikes such as Big Pines, Greeley Ponds or Goodrich Rock. With a bit of bushwhacking you can make some very nice loop hikes!
