Row 1- Ch 18, turn, *working in back loops only sc across row. Ch 1,
turn.* For the next 12 inches work in pattern. * to *.
For the next 5 rows, dec 1 sc on each end of row or until you have 8
sc in row.
Sc in pattern for next 4".
For next 5 rows, inc 1 sc on each end until you get to 18 sc across.
Fasten off, sew ends together.
