Snow day

Mount DoomSnow days are always the best. Something about snow day always calls for whiskey and a lot of goofing around in the snow. Thus, yesterday, I did some serious wandering about and ended up at Jeff and Nathan's place (Nathan braved the drive back from Wyoming and made it back well into our "Mount Doom" session discussed below) playing with Jeff's mini snow park in his back yard. Jeff is the buddy who had the rail I mentioned some time ago. We christened the hill we built to get a launch from Mount Doom. Anyway the call of Mount Doom brought many folks over and we whiskeyed away the snowy night enjoying the freedom of it all.

Call off the rescue party, I made it back. You should see the snow. Oh, ok:

Wham!

Yawn

It has been snowing intensely here for about 18 hours now. It lets off every once in a while, of course, but I would say that there is a good foot of snow. 31.3 degrees.

It is nice to be inside, but I'm going out in it. He're to slipping and sliding, everyone. If I don't return, send the dogs out after me.

Merry

Merry Christmas!

And no, I didn't really take a leak in the snow. I had you fooled for a second though, didn't I? You should try color matching piss some time. It is a humbling experience. And yes, I am kidding about that too. I am here for your amusement, afterall.

By the way, it is 69.7 degrees inside and 48.4 degrees outside--and there will only be a sliver of moon tonight. How do I know this, you ask? Well the generosity of the Willgrens, you see! I am the proud owner of a La Crosse Atomic Wall Clock. Thanks Cordelia and Charles!

Memory lane

Ok--what's up with this? I thought it was just me and the vacation, but the world might just be returning to my college days. What's next? Are we going to have another George Bush in the White House?

BA DUM DUM.

It should be interesting to hear what MBV comes up with.

To pieces, you say?

I was thinking today I really want to go on a retreat up to the monastery in Huntsville (UT, not AL). It is a quiet place with no TV, radio etc., and hardly any cars. The monks do a great deal of physical labor (which, crazy as it sounds, I rather enjoy.) Not to long ago John (aka Kunta, aka Huz) and I were talking about going there. Maybe in the Spring when there is more work to do.

need to know basis

Last night I had a rather amusing dream. It would seem that I was in a fox hole about to go over the top, as they might say in World War I parliance. The next thing I knew I found my self rolling onto the floor. I had to laugh. I'm not sure I have ever thrown myself out of bed in my sleep.
