Any way, back to this inanity. (Woot to meta-blogging!) Anyway I was thinking of spending this extra-long weekend wasting my time in Vegas, but, as you can see from the links below, the price for even a flea bag hotel just seemed too much and the drive too long. (What the hell ever happened to the cheap hotel and all-you-can-barf buffets anyway?) It looks like I will get a gambling fix, afterall, since word is that a Wendover trip is in the offing. Wendover! Armpit of the Great Basin. Well at least it is better than Winnemuca, a cyst on the syphilitic pudenda of Nevada.

It probably would be safe to say that the guy in the Audi who nearly ran me down in the crosswalk a block from my house and the guy in the F250 who nearly ran me down in the crosswalk a block from my work have a lot in common with the without-a-car-I-cannot-function folks who bring you this site for Legacy Highway Disinformation. What is wise, human-friendly development (see Justin's (of Tibbetts Report) comment in that link) they see as "nonsense." (Kudos to Justin, by the way, for tearing them all up one side and down the other.)

Thanks to all of the like-minded folk who believe in roads and more roads, too-wrapped-up-in-your-steel-coffins-to-see-people-in-cross-walks and too-insulated-to smell-the-stench-of-your-own-pollution: You give me every reason in the world to continue expending shoe leather on concrete and not buy another fucking car. Yeah that's right. I am not poor, and I could probably buy the biggest fucking SUV out there, but I won't because I have something called moral fortitude.

Lookie here! Your hotel room comes complete with hooker! That room has got everything a high-roller needs, I tells ya.
