Newfound - May 10, 2009

Garry Woodruff Takes First Place at Newfound

From Division 2 (New Hampshire) ……May 10, 2009…… Garry Woodruff from Candia, New Hampshire is one step closer to the 2009 ABA National Championship with a 1st Place win and $245 in the American Fishing Tour Division 2 tournament held on Newfound this past weekend. Garry’s two bass limit was comprised of 2 smallmouth, and weighed in at 8.30 pounds. He targeted staging prespawn smallmouth in 2 to 6 feet of water using a homemade shaky head jig and a swimbait. Second place went to Chris Perry with a limit weight of 7.52. Coming in third place was Don Conrad with a limit weight of 6.12. Big bass was awarded to Garry Woodruff for catching a 4.22 pound smallmouth.  All fish were released back into the lake alive.

Registration will be in the parking area at the top of the hill. Please register  first, then launch, park your trailer. The safety briefing will be held at the docks near the gas pump. We'll draw boat numbers when you register. We'll do the pools again. Don Conrad and Chris Perry will be running for the tournament.

New for this year, we'll be drawing 2 random anglers for a prize package from GRIZZ BAITS™ and other ABA sponsors.

Registration time is 5:30am to 6:30am.
Tournament briefing and pairings at 6:30am.
Launch time is at 7:00am.
Weigh-in at 3:00pm.
5 fish limit with a 12" minimum.
Registration is $70. Late fee $5 if not preregistered. $5 split lunker pool. $5 first loser pool. $10 Ramp fee. ($90 total for new or pre-registered)

2009 Season Summary

We've just completed our fourth 2009 season tournament at Newfound Lake. We only ended up with 5 anglers.  Let's try to have bigger turnouts for rest of the 2009 season.

Don Conrad and Garry Woodruff are now tied in the 2009 AOY standings.

The remaining permits are for 15 boats. That means up to 30 anglers if we can get an equal number of non-boaters.

And don’t forget if you want to fish as a boater with us or in NH, then you’ll need to have your safe boater certificate.
