Robbie was 10 years old when he played "Robbie" in "Voyage To A Green Planet." He also helped re-write the script "The Legend of Andromeda and The Whale." From a 10 year old's perspective!
Kristi narrates in all of our productions, but is the main narrator in "Introduction to the Planetarium," The "Planetarium Pointer." (Everybody got involved in the Story telling in "The Legend of Andromeda and The Whale" ---you'd never guess what part I had!
Kristi read the entire "Intro" script in one take! This amazing feat totally blew away the staff at REX Recording, including the owner of the studio. Her performance blew us away too!
She is a graduate of OSU with a BA in Math and did some graduate work at Wayne State in Michigan. Kristi taught Jr. High Math and Science. The arrival of her 3 children caused her to retire from full time teaching; she developed a new avocation, reading aloud children's stories. It was a natural step from that experience to being a "Planetarium dis-corporal voice."
A native Oregonian, Dwight Is a principal narrator in all of our productions. He also played Poseidon in "Introduction to the Planetarium" and Helios in "The Scorpio Sagittarius Connection."
Dwight studied journalism and photography at PSU and played percussion and tympani for 13 years in various bands and for the Portland Opera Association Orchestra and the Portland Jr. Symphony. He spent 13 years at OMSI's H.C. Kendall Planetarium writing, narrating, photographing, selecting music, doing audio production and building special effects. Dwight is currently a videographer for AT&T Broadband.
Dean is a Native Oregonian, he attended Grant High School and The Bassist Art School.
Tim is a graduate of the Eastman School of music. He joined the Strasenburg Planetarium in January, 1972 as Music Director and in 1975 travelled across Lake Ontario to join the staff of the McLaughlin Planetarium.
Worked off Broadway shows, light Opera, oratorio and musical theatre. Her vocal background is classical, having performed works like "Carmina Burana" She plays the role of the captain in "Voyage To A Green Planet" and Narrates for us in "Planets, Comets and the Night Sky."
A native New Yorker, Diane graduated from Florida State and has worked for a Promo and PR house in New York, TV and radio in the mid west and currently does news casting for KXL Radio. Diane narrates for us in "The Scorpio-Sagittarius Connection."
Photographer Ray is a native Oregonian, and has a BA in History and Political Science from PSU. Worked as a photographer for OMSI and the HC Kendall Planetarium where he helped build special effects. Ray currently works in video.
A native Portlander, Paul Attended Southern Oregon State and PSU. He played professionally for 10 years and does music for radio and TV commercials.
He has produced several LP's one of which, 'Vortex' can be heard in part in our productions. Paul has used an Arp 2600, Mini-Moog, Oberheim, Roland, Sequential Circuits and a Macintosh Computer along with other signal processing gear.
Michael plays the role of the Cruise Director in "Voyage To A Green Planet" and is the "wise" story teller in the "Scorpio Sagittarius Connection." He is also the principal narrator in "The ET's: Where Are They?"
A native Portlander Michael has been the morning person on 3 "rock" oriented FM stations, KINK, KGON, and KRCK. He was also the PR director at OMSI for several years.
Attended PCC and Portland's Art Museum School of Art has a BS in "Drawing and Painting" from PSU.
