The GP-VLT

Twenty five years ago, this was a scope that dreams were made of.

Astrophotography was a painfully tedious task in 1980. With your 35mm camera body attached to the focuser and carefully focused, you simply stand on a step ladder and pear into the eyepiece of the 4" reflector / guide scope and keep the guide star on the crosshairs with the joystick control box, for hours at a time.

The 90 mm short tube is my own addition.  With a 45 degree diagonal it makes guiding a little simpler.

The old scope will perform like one of today's computer driven folded reflectors, after the addition of a new computer interface.

My Meade 10" LX200 is much smaller, and pc compatable. Most of the images on my image page were made with it.
