Lev 16:15 Then shall he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring his blood within the veil, and do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy seat: And he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins:
No one got any closer to the Tabernacle. or the Presence of God without coming first to the altar of sacrifice. Here the offerings of clean animals were made for the remission, the removal of sins. It is impossible to have the remission of sins without the shedding of blood. God himself performed the first sacrifice for sin when Adam and Eve sinned and were ashamed of thier nakedness, God covered them with an animal skin! A spotless lamb no doubt, the sacrifice of choice for redemption. It was because Cain tried to get around this process and provision and example of the Lord that he displeased God.
Yet in all this animal sacrifice, the Lord says later in Isaiah 1:11, " To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats."
Then what was happening? The sacrifices were the prophetic sign that could never of themselves satisfy the law. There could only be one atonement for the blood of fallen man; The blood of a perfect man. The Lord said that he would make a way for our salvation HIMSELF. David said, "God is my salvation." In order for there to be a Messiah who is able to really BE a Messiah, a savior, there was only one acceptable offering that could be made. And this is why no man born to woman of a man, would be able to reach the spotless requirement that God set. There had to be a miraclulous provision from God himself.
Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
A Virgin shall concieve? Who then would be the Father? There could be only One....Yeshua was born of the virgin Mary concieved of the Holy Spirit, which is the Spirit of the Living God.

Let me take a moment right now to set something straight. There are many mysteries in the Bible. One is the idea of the trinty about a God who is most certainly One. But the Hebrew writers of the Torah understood, at least in the spirit when they decribed the Lord in Genesis as " Elohim" The name itself is a plural. Translated it says, " The Lord said, " Let US make man in OUR own image." Since God is most certainly One God. What can this possibly mean? It is really quite simple. The Bible over and over again attributes seemingly separate attributes to the same God. It says God is Spirit. It says He is the living Word. He is truth, etc. What's so strange about that? Is not water one substance? It is not fire or earth. Water has three distinct and separate manifestations, yet all three are still water. It has not changed into another element, it just appears different. It is a liquid. Fluid and hard to hold onto. It can encompass without losing its identitiy. It can be frozen, and in this state held in the hand, hard and tangible, solid like a body. It can also be heated until it becomes invisible. True steam cannot be seen. (what you see when you heat something is what is condensed in the cooler air.) It cannot be seen, but it is still water, it can have a definite effect on anything it contacts in this state as well. Three distinct differences, all still water. So it is with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. you can see the similarities. What's so hard about that. Is not man made in the image of God? Yet we too have three distinct parts. Our hearts - (mind), our bodies, and our souls. Each having definite differences and attributes and even jobs to perform, yet all still one man.

The reason all this was done, is that there needed to be a perfect atonement, the blood of man for the sin of man. And there could only be one Savior of man, God is our salvation. The altar is the place of the atonement, the sacrifice. This too, is the place of the Cross. And historians are mistaken, and Christians (so called) in the past have run with this misconception. It is not the Romans who crucified Jesus, it is not even the Jews who crucified Yeshua, nor the gentiles, it is us ALL. It is our sin that crucified the Lord of Glory. To reconcile us to a Holy and righteous Father. The perfect sacrifice. God in the flesh. Behold the spotless lamb which takes away the sin of the world.
