Herman C Schreib and Rose Talarico.); “At his request, no service will be held for Herman Carl Albert Schreib, who died June 4, 1993 at his home in Davenport after a long illness. He was 82. He was born March 16, 1911 in Tacoma, WA, to Chas and Ida (Heindorfer) Schreib. He attended school in the Tacoma area. He entered the Merchant Marines in 1943 and was discharged in 1945. He then went to work for a packing house in Spokane, where he met his future wife, Rose. Herman and Rose (Talarico) were married on Feb 3, 1950, at Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. They then moved to Seattle, where he worked for the Greenway Aluminum Co. He worked there until 1974, when he retired due to an injury. Following his retirement in 1974, the Schreibs moved to Washtucna, WA, and then on to Davenport in 1985. The couple enjoyed retirement together until Mr Schreib’s death. He is survived by his wife of 45 years at the home; one sister, Dorothy Renwick of Seattle; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. Strate Funeral Home in Davenport was in charge of arrangements.” (Davenport Times: 6-10-1993);
