COS Field Trip to Bluff Spring Fen
July 19, 2003

Joan Bruchman & Donna Motherway led a Chicago Ornithological Society field trip to Bluff Spring Fen in northwest Cook County, Illinois for both birds and butterflies. We also looked at moths and dragonflies. Thanks very much, Joan & Donna, for a very enjoyable outing in the field!

Here are some photos of several butterflies, dragonflies and a damselfly that I took on the trip.

Silver-spotted Skipper (Epargyreus clarus)

These next two shots are of another skipper that I think is a Little Glassywing (Pompeius verna), one of the grass skippers.
