I live in Washington State along the shores of the beautiful
Puget Sound with my beautiful wife Jill and three great kids Morgan, Katy, and Bowen, and a goofy cat named Mystic.
I always wanted to be a cartoonist since I was a kid and first discovered Peanuts in the newspaper, and never really considered doing anything else.
With the exception of a semester at the Colorado Institute of Art after high school, I'm completely self-taught. Since then, I've worked on anything from video games and role-playing games, comic books, toy design, storyboards, and of course, comic strips.
HONORS and AWARDS
Voted "Best of the Northwest for 2003" by Cartoonists Northwest
The National Cartoonists Society bulletin board "The Wisenheimer" Cartoon of the Week contest. (An informal contest voted on by other cartoonists. These awards mean a lot to me because they're decided on by my peers.)

FAQ's
What
tools do you use to create your comics? I
use a regular #2 pencil, and Sakura Pigma Micron pens sizes .08 and
.05 for inking on regular photocopy paper from Office Depot. But the last couple years I've started doing a lot of my strips completely in Photoshop, from roughs to final colored artwork using a Wacom tablet. Sometime soon I hope to post a tutorial on my working process for those of you interested.
Who
are your influences? I
have a ton of influences from cartoonists, comicbook artists, and
fine artists alike, but the artists that have inspired me the most
have got to be Serigo Aragones, Don Martin, and Duck Edwing of Mad
Magazine fame, Charles Shulz, Gary Larson, Berni Wrightson, and Jack
Kirby, as well as a bunch of my Wisenheimer collegues. (More than I can name here!)
What
are your goals? To
have Fish Tales and Film @ Eleven appear in as many newspapers and websites as I can! So make
sure you email or write the editor of your local newspaper asking
them to carry Fish Tales and/or Film @ Eleven in thier comics section and tell them
about my site!
