2008 SC Thanksgiving Trip

Well, despite a feeling of a throat infection coming on, looks like a go for Sunday departure.

Work customers have been notified, and I only have one project signed, delivery due the first or second week of December, so that fits. All items have been ordered and are coming in next week.

Oil change will be done on the RV Saturday, dumped and winterized the holding tanks today, so I guess I'll make it.

Plans Are Underway
11/17/2008

Well, the plan is to leave Thanksgving week Monday and return home the following Monday, hope I can make it happen.

Bowling

Well, we're still kicking...not a good Monday or Saturday this past week...I've got to wake up and get more consistent.

Bowling Update
01/24/2009

Well, it's been a month or so since posting, so here's the update.

Our Monday night team is still trying to crack the top three, I've been a little off the last couple weeks or we would have been there by now. The first place team is starting to pull away though, so someone better stop them. We bowled them a couple weeks ago and went 4/3, but others keep giving them all 7 points.

Saturday has been just a poor performance from outr big gun lately, Sal Fiore...last week I shot my first 700 series of 2009 (736) and we almost lost all 7 points, we won the last game for a 5/2 total.

Tournaments are coming up, Belle & Beau at Ocean Lanes, and the NJ State tournament in April/May in West Orange NJ. Hoping to participate in both.

Well, it's been a month since my last posting, and our Monday night team has been on a roll...5/2 one week, 7/0 the last two weeks...think we're tied for 3rd place now.

Dave Brown has re-established himself as the high average bowler in the league, after dropping to 219 after one week's poor performance and out of the lead, he's put together a 760 something series and a 740 something series to vault him back to 224 average, 5 pins higher than his nearest competitor.

Even yours truly has pushed my average over 200 to 202 with back to back 706 series and 699 series.

Last week we set the team high game scratch bar for the league at 984 for the team, with Dave Brown bowling a 290, our two in the middle, Dave and Bill both over 200, and my 279...a great team game.

Things are a little more dismal on the Saturday front, but still lots of time to get it together.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good game.

Monday Night Misery
11/18/2008

Well, our team didn't show up yesterday, lost all 7 points and dropped from 7th place to 12th place.

I shot 603, and we were giving them 133 pins, but we just couldn't perform down on lanes 41 and 42...we better wake up!

From Saturday 11/8 to Saturday 11/15 I was in a two weekend doubles tournament and bowled in six league nights for a total of 32 games! Not sure what the average was, but had a high game of 277 and a low of 161 as I recall.

2009 Grand Canyon Adventure

Today I made our first reservation...3 nights at Trailer Village on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. The arrival date is September 14th and the departure date is September 17th...my birthday falls on September 16th!

Second reservation made at Casino Queen RV park, arrival 9/7/09, departure 9/9/09.

Well, we have actually started planning this trip for September 2009. I will post more details as they are formulated but just the planning has been a blast.
