Poetry & Prose:

Gertrude accepts manuscripts from new and established writers.  Subject matter is open and need not be lesbigay-specific.  We publish the best poetry and prose we receive.  

Submissions must be typed, and in the case of prose, double-spaced.  We accept simultaneous submissions however we expect that you will notify us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.  We no longer accept previously published material.  Include a brief cover letter.  A Self Addressed Stamped Envelope (SASE) is required.  Submissions not including one will be discarded.

We accept submissions via surface mail only unless they are from outside North America.  If submitting from outside North America, please send a brief query by email for electronic submission guidelines.  Writers whose work is chosen for publication will be asked to submit an electronic file of said work.

Contributors receive a complimentary copy of the magazine in which their work appears plus discounts on additional copies and subscriptions.

Poetry:

Preferred Length – up to 60 lines*

* please note that our horizontal printing capability is 4.25”

Fiction/Creative Non Fiction:
Submit 1-2 pieces
Preferred Length – up to 3000 words
