PIANO TUNING SERVICES That's right, Butch also tunes and repairs pianos! My Grandfather was the first and biggest influence of music I had in life. He played 13 instruments as well as piano tuning and repair. He taught me the dying art when I was just a teenager. I offer my tuning and repair services mostly in the Pittsburgh area. The tuning price is pending on how far I have to travel. If you have a piano or know someone who does, please feel free to drop me an email with any questions about my service (subject 'piano tuning'). Just click on the 'Contact Us' button. I will be updating this page with some more helpful piano care tips soon. -Pianos are more delicate of an instrument than most people think. There are a lot of small intricate parts that work together to make the piano playable! Piano Care Tips: -Keep your piano tuned. I suggest to tune your piano twice a year. Once in the late spring and once in the late fall. This way your piano has time to adjust to the temperature change. -If you move your piano at all, get it retuned. -Keep your piano on an inside wall of the house. (by inside wall, I mean, a wall that does not connect to the outside.) -It is best not to have a window or heat/ac vent near your piano. -Winter can be tough on your piano because it is a very dry time of year for the inside of your house. If your furnace is not climate controlled, place a stamp moistener with water in it in the bottom of your piano. (or a cup w/ a sponge) I invite you to check back often for more handy tips!
