Text: "Emanuel Stover carried on a tannery in connection with his farm, near Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, and also engaged in distilling which had been carried on by his father, but later this business was discontinued when it was decided by the annual conference of the Brethren Church, that no member should be allowed to manufacture, handle or sell intoxicating liquors of any kind."
