Can you keep up with colonial roulette? The Gilbert & Ellice Islands which we all know and love split into the Gilbert Is. and Tuvalu (Ellice Is.) as crown colonies in 1976. The Gilbert Is. then evolved into independent Kiribati in 1979. Whew! The stamps (mint, in mounts) are nice whatever the political origin.
