North Winds History

The History of the North Winds Chapter of the Iron Indian Riders Association.

The North Winds Chapter began life as the Twin Cities Chapter of the Indian Riders Group on January 29, 2002.

Our Chapter was founded by Ken Wilson. Meetings were held the first Tuesday of the month at Thomas Indian who was our Chapter Sponsor.

Our founding Chapter officers were, Craig Kimble-President, Ron Price-Vice President, Karl Kundert-Secretary, Ken Wilson-Treasurer, Perry Boggs-Sergeant at Arms.

 

Ron Price resigned as Vice President and Gary Groustra was voted as new VP. 

Craig Kimble resigned as Pres and Ken Wilson was voted President and Treasurer.

Karl Kundert resigned as Secretary and Steve Prosser was voted as new Secretary.

Perry Boggs resigned as Sergeant at Arms and Kyle Fredreckson was voted new Sergeant at Arms.

Randy Bartlett was voted new Treasurer.

 

In the fall of 2002, Vince Kubzwenski initatied conversations with the owners of Fury Indian Motorcycles. A meeting was held in January, 2003 with Joe and Tom Leonard. At the conclusion of this meeting the members voted to disband the Twin Cities Chapter of the Indian Riders Group. A vote was passed to become a local chapter of the Iron Indian Riders Association, with Fury Indian Motorcycles as our primary sponsor. After an application was submitted and passed to the Board of Directors of the Iron Indian Riders Association. A contest was held, names were submitted and voted upon with "North Winds" winning the majority. The North Winds Chapter officially began April 26, 2003.

 

Ken Wilson resigned as President and Treasurer, Gary Groustra was voted President, Vince Kubzwenski was voted Vice President, and Marty Doering was voted Sectetary.

Cal Wood volunteered as webmeister.

Marty Doering resigned as Secretary, John Thompson was voted Secretary.

Randy Bartlett resigned as Treasurer and John Thompson was voted Treasurer.

Vince Kubzwenski, and John Thompson resigned as VP, Secretary and Treasurer.

Mark Dietz was voted Vice President and Secretary.

Tom Tangney was voted Treasurer.
