Again,
we set out with our travelling buddies, Diane and Bill - this
time for 2 weeks in Normandie.
Week number one we rented an old French Farm Long House in the
eastern-most region around Rouen, and devoted the time exploring
Rouen and surrounding towns, and points of interest.
Week
two we moved into the western part of Normandie near Caen, and
settled in at another rental for touring around this part of Normandie
- including Mont St. Michel, and the areas associated with the
D-Day Allied Invasion of Normandie.
Normandie
is a beautiful, complex, historically rich, area of France ....
with charming quaint villages, culturally rich cities, pastoral
and soft landscapes, famous for its cheeses, cream rich-Normandie
cuisine, calvados, apple orchards, and most of all .... people
who really like Americans, and remember their role in liberating
France .... even at the expense of often decimating their towns
and cities to free them of Nazi domination.
