The Rhine Tower looms over the city and can be seen from almost anywhere. The Old City (Altstadt) is a one square kilometer area jammed with 260 restaurants, 4 breweries, many stores, dance halls and music rooms. It is the gathering place from noon till the early morning for thousands of people. The area is also known as "the longest bar in the world."
