The Gig Harbor Model Yacht Club (GHMYC) was formed in 1982 by RC
skippers who had a love for model sailing. They originally started
sailing in Gig Harbor, WA, ergo Gig Harbor Model Yacht Club.
However, today, due to availability and desirability of sailing
sites the club now sails on Surprise Lake, located at
Surprise Lake Village. 2800 Queens Way (off Meridian North), Milton,
WA. 98354
Directions click here.
The major classes sailed in the club are EC12
and ODOM and any other sail craft that is RC. At the present time,
active boats in the specific classes are 13
EC 12s
and 14
ODOMs.
