SCOTT'S 53-YRD. RUN DIDN'T SAVE GAME
Conshohocken Upsets the Dope by Trouncing Holmesburg on Gridiron
The powerful Holmesburg eleven, with Johnny Scott, of Lafayette, and several former college stars in the line-up bowed before the slashing attack of J. Howard Berry's Conshohocken eleven before 13,000 persons on the field of Norristown High School. The score was 19-7.
Holmesburg shot into the lead shortly after the game started when Scott dashed 53 yards from scrimmage through the entire "Conshy" team for a touchdown, but the latter eleven came back strong and a few minutes later evened up the score when "Whitey" Thomas, the former Penn State end, recovered a fumble by Bert Yeabsley and ran more than 30 yards for a score.
Later on in the same period Potteiger plunged through the line from the 10-yard mark for a score and he added another touchdown later in the game to make the victory sure.
