Tacony Aces Tie Legion In Turkey Day Battle
Barney Gugle's Tacony Aces invaded the Memorial Stadium on Thanksgiving Day afternoon and held the heavier Legion eleven to a scoreless tie. The largest crowd of the season witnessed the fray between these two rivals.
Both teams at some time during the contest journeyed into striking distance of the goal. Legion turned loose the greatest bid a score when a series of thrusts both through the line and overhead, carried them to their rival's 15-yard line in the third quarter.
Legion's ball carrying cast, once within scoring distance, seemed to fold up before the brilliant defense of the Aces.
Tacony carried the ball to the Legion's 20-yard mark only to loose it on downs.
