Striegel Denies Rumors.

Pottsville, Pa., Dec. 16 -- Published statements that the Pottsville Maroons are on a strike and that no serious contest could be expected against Frankford next Saturday was denied by Dr. J. G. Striegel, manager of the club. Manager Striegel said the report of trouble in the club has been exaggerated and declares the Maroons will not only play to win Saturday, but also expresses confidence they will defeat the league leaders.

It is reported that Charlie Berry may get control of the Maroons next year. Striegel declared this afternoon that the salary deficiency is only about 15 percent of the amount guaranteed the players, and said he did not doubt this will be made up.
