Special to "The Record."
Phoenixville, Pa., Nov. 30. -- The football season closed here to-day with one of the finest and hardest games of the year, when the Phoenix A. A. lined up against the Strong P. R. R. Y. M. C. A. team, of Philadelphia. Although the final score stood 12 to 5 against them, Phoenix played a badly crippled team, five of the regular men being off on account of injuries received in the rough game at Conshohocken last Saturday. Fully 2000 people, one of the largest crowds of the season, were in attendance. The first half was very evenly contested, with the score 6 to 5 in favor of the visitors, Simms and Morris having each made a touchdown. In the second half Phoenix rushed the ball to within 15 yards of P. R. R.'s goal and lost it on an attempted place kick, after which P. R. R. advanced steadily for her second touchdown.
