PHILADELPHIA DEFEATS ORANGE

Local Professionals Keep the ex-Collegians from Scoring

ORANGE, N.J., Nov. 27 -- [Special] -- A large crowd saw the Philadelphia NNational League football team defeat the eleven of the Orange Athletic Association on the Orange Oval this afternoon. The game was hard fought throughout, and at its close the store [sic] stood 12 to 0 in favor of Philadelphia.

Dickson, of the University of Pennsylvania refereed, and "Gus" Weidenmayer, of Lafayette, was the umpire. Stearns, of the University of Pennsylvania, and Otto Knechter, Orange A.C., were linesmen, and Edward Berson, of the Roseville A.C., acted as timekeeper.
