CANTON CANCELS GAME

Refuse to Meet Quakers Here Tomorrow Afternoon

Because of a league protest filed by the Buffalo team, the Canton Bulldogs, composed of leading collegiate foot ball payers now playing a professional game, have cancelled their game with the Philadelphia Quakers, scheduled to be played at the Phillies Ball Park tomorrow afternoon.

Announcement of the cancellation was made this afternoon by Leo Conway, manager of the Quakers. In place of the Canton team, the local professionals will play Bodie Weldon's Jeffersonians, of Rochester, instead.

The cancelled game was the result of a protest filed by Buffalo because the Buffalo team is scheduled to play the Bulldogs in Buffalo Sunday afternoon. It happens that six of the Quakers also are members of the Buffalo team, and as a result of the action of hte [sic] Cantonites the six players, according to Conway, will not play for Buffalo against the Bulldogs Sunday.

These players are Heine Miller, Lud Wray, Lou Little, Johnny Scott, Swede Youngstrum and Joe Spagna.
