Bugle Corps and Yellow Jackets are Placing Frankford on the Map

The Frankford Yellow Jackets and the Frankford Post No. 211 Bugle Corps, both Champion organizations, on exhibition before you today, are making Frankford known all over the United States., according to the statement of a leading manufacturer of this town whose traveling salesmen make reports of business conditions. A man from Chicago who recently located in the new section of Frankford , told a certain manufacturer that he was surprised at the community spirit manifested in Frankford; he had been unable to find anything like it out in the mid-west city.

Some half dozen of the leading business men of Frankford, always active in community welfare movements, have formed a committee and issued a circular letter to leading manufacturers, merchants and citizens of this section asking for contributions towards defraying the cost of uniforms for Frankford's State Champion Bugle Corps, thereby making a still greater impression upon the people of other cities whenever the Bugle Corps may be called upon to take part in parades and great public demonstrations. This committee has asked that Frankford display more of the "Spirit of St. Louis" and this spirit be measured up by the size of their checks; the committee however, feels that if the real community spirit cannot accompany the check, they should not send.

One contributor, enclosing his check thanked the committee for the privilege of participating. This is the spirit the committee desires to keep alive in our town.

No doubt quite a number of good community citizens will be overlooked in this call for donations, but if so, they may forward their contributions to any of the local newspapers, which newspapers will later publish the names of all contributors. Just remember that the Yellow Jackets and the Legion Bugle Corps are both Champions -- are the two organizations broadcasting Frankford and placing this town, located along Old Kings Highway on the Map.
