Jackets Defeat Green Bay in Aerial Battle on Turkey Day, 20-14
12,000 WITNESS GREATEST GRID CONTEST EVER. STAGED IN HIVE OF JACKETS. HOMAN SCORES WINNING POINTS.
The second largest crowd ever to jam the local stadium saw the Frankford Yellow Jackets come from behind in the last period to win and hold their position in the League race. The Chicago Bears' game of two years ago holds the records [sic] for attendance, 13,000 witnessing that contest.
The opening whistle had no sooner sounded than the Jackets opened a vicious aerial attack after Hap Moran had returned the kick-off to midfield. Stockton hurled a long pass to Hamer, which netted 30-yards. After several trys [sic] at the line, Tex dashed around left end for 18-yards and a touchdown. Budd failed to obtain the extra point.
Green Bay kicked off and Frankford's aerials again darkened the air, and another march goalward was on; three tosses, two of which were from Stockton to Moran and the other from Stockton to Hamer, netted a total of 60-yards. Jones finally went over from the 3-yard stripe. Budd kicked the goal.
In the second period Green Bay, not to be out done in the scoring column, opened up a vicious attack, sprinkled with beautiful aerials, that ended [when] Lidberg went over for a 6-pointer, Purdy kicking the extra point.
The third period went scoreless and ended with the ball in the Packers' possession on Frankford's 25-yard line. On the 4th down Lambeau shot a long aerial to Flaherty, who romped over for Green Bay's second 6-points and Purdy added the extra point via the drop-kick route.
Now the Packers were leading 14-13, but here the Jackets were in all their might and Chamberlin, recovering a fumble, raced to midfield. Terrific line plunges by Stockton, Brudder [sic] and Hamer carried the pigskin to the 20-yard line. Here they were held and Budd failed to kick a field goal. Green Bay punted to midfield and back swarmed the Jackets, two passes, one Stockton to Hamer and the other, the hero play of the day -- a pass from Stockton to Homan, Which netted the winning points, Hogan kicking the goal, causing Frankford fans to go into deafening uproar.
There were no outstanding stars in the lineup of the local eleven, the whole team playing super football.
Purdy, Lewellen and Flaherty featured for the Packers, the game being the greatest ever played in the Yellow Jacket stadium from a spectator's standpoint.

Safety Wins for Jackets Over Green Bay in Annual Turkey Day Battle
Ten thousand See Local Eleven Held in Check by Packers
The Jackets added another win to their total on Thanksgiving Day when they emerged a victor over the Green Bay Packers 2-0 on a safety scored in the opening period.
The season's largest crowd witnessed the Turkey Day fracas which was well-played although the Frankford players did not perform up to their usual standard.
It was near the conclusion of the opening quarter that the home team made the points that eventually proved necessary to insure victory. Earpe passed to District Attorney Verne Lewellen, on his ten-yard line, who was ready to punt.
It was a wild chuck of the said Mr. Earpe for the oval sailed over Verne's head across the goal line and beyond the end zone. Lewellen recovered the ball and it was a safety for Frankford.
Elkins did some wonderful kicking keeping Green Bay at a distance early in the game. One of Fait's punts measured 70 yards when he kicked from his own thirty-yard line over the Green Bay goal line. It was a hard contest with the home players eventually emerging on top in one of the closest games of the entire league season.

GREEN BAY BEATS JACKETS IN TURKEY DAY BATTLE, 25 - 7
Aerial Attack Proves Nemisis of Jackets. Fumbles Costly as Packers Hold League Lead.
About 8000 dyed-in-the-wool grid fans braved the icy winds yesterday to see Green Bay and the Jackets in their annual Thanksgiving Day grid fracas, the sixth year the Packers have been the Turkey Day attraction. And they saw a bewildering aerial attack and costly fumbles send the local eleven down to the worst defeat since since the meeting of these two rivals -- 25 to 7.
Frankford received the kickoff and several plays took the ball to midfield where Pharmer fumbled and Green Bay recovered. The Packers kicked over the goal line but Pharmer, kicking into a strong wind, the ball only reached the 28-yard line. An aerial toss, Dunn to Blood, netted the first score. They failed to make the extra point.
Green Bay made its second score in the second period when Lewellen passed to Blood for another touchdown. Again they failed to score the extra point. The remainder of the period resulted in a punting duel.
Following the kick-off opening the second half, Herber of Green Bay fumbled in [sic] his 17-yard line and Wilson recovered for the Jackets. Pharmer and Joesting carried the ball to the 5-yard line where a pass, Pharmer to Joesting, netted a touchdown and Pharmer scored the extra point, making the score 12 to 7.
It looked as if Frankford could push over another touchdown and take the lead as they were more than holding their [own] against last year's champions. Frankford kept hammering at the Packers' goal line the remained [sic] of the period, but in the last quarter, with the gale winds behind them, things took on a different aspect. An exchange of punts drove the Jackets back to their own 7-yard line. An intercepted pass and a 30-yard run through center gave Green Bay its third touchdown, Dunn kicking the extra point.
Another intercepted pass and another aerial toss, Dunn to Herber, scored another 6-pointer but the placement kick was blocked, making it 25 to 7. The Packers intercepted another aerial following the kick-off and the ball rested on the Jackets' 8-yard line as the game ended.
