YELLOW JACKETS DROP OUT OF LEAGUE
Financial Troubles Force Philadelphia Team to Resign From National Professional Circuit
The Philadelphia Yellow Jackets have resigned from the National Professional foot ball league, at least for the remainder of the current season.
The Yellow Jackets announced last week that they would finish their season as [a] road team, but following their 13-0 defeat at the hands of the New York Giants Sunday it was learned that Philadelphia would be unable to continue because of financial difficulties.
Officials of the club could not be reached last night to make a statement. The Jackets in their ten years of play in the National Pro League won one title. This season was their worst.

Manager Evans Announces Disbandment of Jackets for Season
The necessity of abandoning the Stadium of the Yellow-Jackets for home games and securing another field, which proved unprofitable, caused the abandonment of the at-home portion of the Jackets schedule, but Manger Evans made an effort to carry on the schedule of games away from home, but ran up against a stonewall when Brooklyn refused to pay the league a guarantee for next Sunday's game at Brooklyn. It has been deemed advisable, therefore, to abandon the remaining games for this season.
"I had a date with the manager of the Brooklyn team, whom we were to play next Sunday," said Joe Evans, manager of the Yellow Jackets, "and just as we were leaving the Polo Grounds he came over to the bus.
"I discussed the game and when he informed me that Brooklyn did not want to pay the league guarantee and I refused to play on any gamble and told him the game was off as the players would not play that way.
"We are now making arrangements with other teams to take over the players and most of them will likely secure positions with other teams in the league."
Many of the players have already arranged to play with other teams for the balance of the season: Kostos, Behrman [sic], Jones and Racis will be in the Shenandoah line-up on Sunday against Frankford Legion at Shenandoah. Peterson and Ringwald have secured births on the Frankford Legion team. Seborg, Wilson, Apsit and MacDonnell will be seen with Clifton Heights, while Joesting and Tackwell have gone to the Chicago Bears.
