Joe Carr Says No 1932 Franchise Will Be Awarded
Columbus, O., Nov. 13 -- (AP) -- Joe Carr, president of the National Foot Ball League, has confirmed reports that no league franchise would be granted to Philadelphia next year and said Washington was one of several cities applying for the position.
The fact that the Jackets were compelled to play Saturday football in direct competition with Pennsylvania and Temple Universities and that it worked hardships on certain teams to play on Saturday and again on Sunday in New York was given as the reason for withdrawing the franchise.
