I have for sale, one FrankenDuo system, based off a Duo 230. It has the
following features:
- 12 megs of RAM
- 160 meg hard drive (Apple Disk scan shows no problems)
- AC adapter (M7783)
- WORKING BATTERY! Recently reconditioned; last 2 runs of Battery Amnesia gave 50 and 65
minutes, respectively.
- System 7.5.5
- 68030, overclocked from 33 to 35 MHz
- a superior quality heat pad that removes more heat from the CPU
- passive matrix black and white screen
- LCD shows no dead pixels
- modem has been replaced with an ADB port
- trackball has been replaced with a clear ball
- a hard drive activity LED (red) has been added under the clear
trackball
- the green CAPS LOCK LED has been replaced with a brighter, red one
- parameter RAM battery registered 3.0 V on both cells
Downsides:
- unit is not brand new and shows some of the wear one would expect
from parts that are 9 years old
- there are some minor scratches and scuffing and a small nick near
the ADB port (see picture)
- battery is difficult to remove from the bay and requires a bit of
muscle
Overall the unit is in very good condition and runs quite well.
