ABOUT G. LLOYD REDIGER
Author - Conference Speaker - Preacher - Consultant/Trainer

The Reverend G. Lloyd Rediger is ordained in the Presbyterian Church (USA), and is certified at the Diplomate level by the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. He has been a member of the Interim Ministry Network, the Academy of Parish Clergy, and the American Association of Christian Counselors. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Conference of Churches, the Minnesota Conference of Churches, and the New Mexico Conference of Churches. And he serves on the Editorial Boards of The Journal of Pastoral Care & Counseling, and the Journal of Spirituality in Mental Health.
Pastoral ministry is Dr. Rediger’s original and continuous calling. He served four congregations, from small to large, including Interim Ministry pastoring. His doctoral work in human personality and psychotherapy was completed at the Chicago Theological Seminary. Following clinical training and internship he founded the Office of Pastoral Services for the Wisconsin Conference of Churches. This was one of the first ecumenical counseling services in the USA devoted to pastors and their families. For nineteen years he did counseling, spiritual direction, and research for clergy and officials of thirty four denominations. His specialized training and experience has led to many requests, nationally and internationally, from denominational offices, seminaries, military Chiefs of Chaplains, clergy groups, and social service agencies for speaking engagements, consultations, specialized training, and printed materials. Four major religious publishers have requested his authorship of seven books on spiritual leadership issues. Some three hundred columns, essays, journal articles and PowerPoint presentations have been generated from his computers. The themes of these materials range through burnout, role confusion, clergy marriages, sexual misconduct, conflict management, and pastoral leadership, to personal fitness, health ministries, and insights regarding contemporary quantum spirituality.
A personal reflection: As I reflect on my life and ministry, I note a strong motif of “adventure.” In early years I was drawn to books telling of explorers, missionaries and inventors. In school I was especially motivated in exploring ideas and the creative adventures of people who found new ways to manage problems and pursue innovative possibilities. My ministry has revolved around exploring intuitive as well as scholarly theology, psychology, and the quantum sciences. I enjoy exploring inspired ways to serve, guide, motivate and support within the challenges of the Gospel and contemporary human and environmental needs. My counseling has tended towards encouraging clients to examine past and present difficulties while opening themselves towards healing and growth. Spiritual direction focused on adventures in faith and spirituality. Professional consultations and seminars probe the cutting edges of spiritual leadership. My international travel and relationships seek cross-cultural and boundary spanning pursuit of salvation, peace and healing patterns that make sense beyond parochial understandings. Even after years of adventurous ministries, I find continuous opportunities for further explorations with God and innovative colleagues.
Personal: I enjoy travel, sports, reading, music, fishing & hiking. Vera & I live in Albuquerque, NM, where she is a certified massage therapist, specializing in energy work. Our son & daughter-in-law live in California with two delightful daughters.
