AWARD AND CERTIFICATES

 

We received an award from Butte/Glenn County Community Partnership for 1996-97. It says, "For outstanding contributions to the prevention of alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse in our community."

We received a certificate in 2009 from the Oroville Cares Coalition for many years of service and collaborative leadership in social norming campaigns and prevention programs including tobacco. 

The Butte County Board of Supervisors presented a Resolution of Appreciation to us, along with other groups, for True Love Waits activities in 2009.  They have made presentations to us every year since 1998.

The Oroville City Council presented a Proclamation of Appreciation to us, along with other groups, for True Love Waits activities in 2009.  They have made presentations to us every year since 1998.

We received a certificate in 2005 from Oroville Hospital's Health Ministries Outreach for many years of making pink ribbons for the community for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 

Mrs. Lawrence, the Venture Club's advisor, and the Club received a certificate from Butte County Department of Public Health in 2003 for helping to pass the 2003 Oroville ordinance prohibiting self-service tobacco displays.

Seventh and eighth graders each received certificates in 2002 for donating large brown paper bags with our motto verses stamped on them to the Meals on Wheels and other food programs sponsored by the Community Action Agency of Butte County.

We received a certificate in December 2002 for sharing our resources and/or leadership in the collaborative activities of the Community Health Alliance of Oroville (CHAO) to address the health and safety issues of Oroville's youth and families.

We received a certificate in August 1999 for improving the health of our community in partnership with CHAO.

We received certificates for participating in Make a Difference Day.  We participated each year from 1995 to 2008.  

 For giving toys to Southside Family Resource Center from Venture Club's Toy Drive, we received certificates each year from 1998 to 2005.

We received a certificate from the Optimist Club for presenting a program on the Venture Club in 1998. We have also presented a program to the Exchange Club, Noon Rotary Club, First Congregational Church, Cooperating Christian Churches of Oroville, and the Oroville Christian Business Alliance. We were one of the presenters at a special meeting of the Oroville City Council on youth activities in Oroville in 2001.

We received a certificate for recycling in 1997.

We received a certificate for making cookies for law enforcement personnel from Butte County's Sheriff's Office in 1996 and 1995.
