We continue being heavily involved on the executive staff of the Sweetheart Jamboree. We have enjoyed all the creative aspects of putting on such an event. We have been involved with the event as Instructors, Event Caretakers, and Executive Staff since its inception in 1992. We have thoroughly enjoyed bringing this event to you, so you will continue seeing us around. Sweetheart Jamboree has had a great impact on so many of the dancers in our area and we wish to see it continue being an event you all can enjoy and be proud to be part of. We want to express our sincere thanks to all of you who have supported us and the Sweetheart Jamboree over the years.

Cody is now almost 4 and is a really busy boy. He is having fun "Dancing" down in our Studio, but he’s still not quite ready for the competition floor! He has gone through 3 sessions of tap and ballet lessons this year along with 2 sessions of music class, he is getting a good foundation, and next we are considering starting him in a little more structured ballroom class. While watching "Dancing with the Stars" he said He wanted to dance there with Mommy! He is active in all kind of different activities, Swimming, Karate, and Climbing, currently he is a sports program introducing him to a variety of sports. He is developing his own special character (Hope we survive!) We are still working on our new shop/office/dance studio building and hope to get the studio done this spring so we can get back to teaching and have our basement family room back. Cody has already taken over the room as his special playroom.

We had the opportunity this summer to go back to Denmark to visit Walt’s old stomping grounds where he grow up. As part of this trip, we also visited Norway and the fjords. Walt also was able to discover some additional information regarding his father and his German family and just recently he was able to trace them and found that he has 2 Brothers living in Germany whom he is just now starting to communicate with. A very exciting event as he thought his father had died shortly after his birth.

Debbie still works at Boeing as an Application Analyst. Walt continues enjoying his retirement He is greatly enjoying his Mondays and Fridays at home with Cody and spends the rest of the week slowing working off the huge honey-do list. We enjoy camping, canoeing, crafts and being parents to an almost 4 year old. Walt enjoys creating beautiful mats and frames, collecting stamps, woodworking, oil painting and playing any instrument he can get his hands on, this year he is adding the violin and the western flute. We did not get the chance this past summer to take our usual trip to the Tetons as we spent the time and money on our trip to Europe. We hope to get the 5th wheel on the road a little more this year as there are so many wonderful places to visit.

We have danced together both for fun and competitively since 1987. One of the most memorable dance experiences we have had was dancing our Pony Swing routine as part of Reba McEntire’s show. We had this opportunity 4 times and the last 3 times, we did our 3 person Pony routine including Walt’s daughter, Margit. Walt holds the title of 2005 United Country Western Dance Council’s Gold Open World Champions along with his dance partner Jena Thrasher. We hope to get ourselves back on the competition floor someday, but we have to figure out how to fit practicing into a 4 year old’s schedule.
