SYNOPSIS:
Angel’s keepsakes
Angel
slowly slipped from the bed were his lover slept soundly and went to his
bureau. Under some shirts was a cigar
box he took with him out into the living room, closing the doors behind him.
Sitting
down on the sofa, he opened the box and delicately touched the treasures
inside. Small origami animals Wesley
spent hours folding. He took out his
favorite, a yellow bird and set it on the coffee table. The poor thing leaned severely to one
side. The deformity was the reason why
Wesley threw it into the trash. A failed
attempt and he immediately started on another.
Angel
still isn’t sure why he rescued it. Why
he collects strange things. Locks of Darla’s hair.
Classic love letters Spike written Dru. Those where also kept in cigar boxes. Now he has tiny misshapen animals, memories
of a man not sleeping more than twenty feet away in his bed.
He
picked the bird up and placed back into its home. Maybe he was nothing more than a fool in
love.
