Saturday, July 24th

Today we hopped in the car and got out of the city. We braved the valet and called for our car. Mom started driving, then we wondered "How the heck do we get out of the city?" We started driving in the vague general direction of the highway and eventually found it. Our destination was Parc du Mont-Tremblant in the Laurentian Mountains. We stopped first at a tourist information center in St. Jerome. This part of the country was a little intimidating because almost everything was in French, but it felt good to get out of the city for a change.

Once we got to the park and picked up a map, we located this picnic area. The views in the park of the surrounding mountains are beautiful.

We set up at the picnic area for some snacking and some Trivial Pursuit.

Beth spotted an otter along the water, but by the time she got her camera out, it was gone.

We soon found out why there was no one else at this picnic site. Bugs started eating us alive. We managed to play half a game of Trivial Pursuit and eat some snacks before packing up.
