The County of Cryllor

Taverns and Inns in the City of Cryllor

The Unicorn’s Crown;
Located in the Old City; a large wood and stone structure with a gold crown on a sign with a green background, The Unicorn’s Crown is considered one of the best Inns of the city. A full menu of items from breakfast, lunch and dinner are available. Operated by Vincent Ramblev, who also serves as the head chef; the restaurant is always busling and a frequent stop for the various noble houses and well to dos.
The Inn is able to accommodate up to 60 people in private rooms and an additional 80 people in their 5 spacious common rooms. Prices are quite high. Food values range from 3 to 5 times those of the PHB but have exceptional taste and quality. A wide array of alcoholic drinks are available; from very strong dwarven spirits to fine imported wines. These will range from 2 to 7 times the PHB values and are also of exceptional quality.
The main bartender, Terrel Gantle, has worked there for 15 years. He is considered an excellent source for information on the local nobility. He makes frequent stops at various tables to both gather and re-distribute gossip, although more interesting news, typically, draws a higher entertainment fee.

The Falling Star
Located in the Merchant’s Quarter, the Falling Star is the largest Inn within the city. A sign with a gold star surrounded by 8 other smaller stars is displayed prominently in front of the mammoth wood building. Able to accommodate up to 120 people in private rooms and another 100 or so in common rooms, this inn is reknown for adventurers and high end mercenaries. Operated by Sir Amos Laishneigh, a former knight and defender of Cryllor, Amos has a way of connecting the right people with the right job.
Food values range from 2 to 3 times the PHB values but is quite good. A wide variety of sea food is the inn’s staple. Drinks range from 2 to 4 times PHB and is also a very good quality.
The main bartender is Amos’ daughter; Lauren Laishneigh. A young women, recently widowed and has taken her family name and returned to work with her father. Lauren is well versed in the events of the county. If approached properly, she can be a valueable contact for adventurers and available mercenaries.
Lauren is well respected and a former member of the Hennen Duelist Academy. She can certainly handle herself in a crunch and has a reputation of putting “scoundrels” in their place.

The Dead Dog Tavern
Located in the Refugee Quarter, this sturdy wooden building is distinguished among the other ramshackle huts that surround it. A mostly intact sign of an inverted black dog gives little indication of the purpose of the dwelling.
The bartender, and supposed owner, is Gerret. Just Gerret. A burly and balding old man with a nose that has been broken on more than one occasion (and probably recently), runs this fine establishment.
His help, referred to as Meat, is a human that is obviously the bouncer and a fine vision of his discriptive name. The waitress is Rona Overhelm. An older woman, past her prime that gladly accepts the compliments of the drunks and louts that frequent the tavern.
The drinks are average at best and usually old, stale and sour but very cheap. The food is edible but barely and demands basic PHB costs.
The Dead Dog Tavern has private rooms for up to 30 and a somewhat insect free common room for another 20. Gerret, always one to make some extra coin, is an excellent contact for those seeking the less obvious side of the city. He has been known as a good “middle man” for holding bets, fees and payments and has always been true to his word; an odd quality for a man with his business associates.
