The County of Cryllor

Information of other Towns in the County of Cryllor
Other Notable Towns:
Eldmyn
Eldmyn is the oldest mining town within Cryllor and is a town of about 1100 people, mostly miners, their families,
guards, merchants and supporting services. Lord Keleff is the current ruler. He is feared more than he is loved but he is well respected
and has for a long time been close to the Count. He has also maintained a strict discipline within the town and has managed to minimized losses to the constant raids
from the orcs and ogres in the Jotens. He is considered a stern yet effective military leader.
Eldmyn is a grim and unhappy place; miners work long hours at backbreaking labor within the mines, and inevitable deaths
weigh on the whole community. Eldmyn is located in the southeast foothills of the Jotens just within the County's borders.
Gerth
A town in the heartlands of Cryllor on the
banks of the Javan. Dame Grenna is the Manor Lord, inheriting the
traditional fief of the head of the House of Gerth, a minor Oeridian noble
house.
The House of Gerth has a tradition of promoting Heironeous. Dame Grennaher, her late husbnad and her eldest son, Baroth, are all Paladins of Heironeous.
Although there is no state religion within Gerth, following the
general laws of Keoland, the people of Gerth are disproportionately
religious and follow Heironeous. Her people are also
militant;
Grenna maintains peasant levies that are capable of fighting as
regular troops, following the yeoman models she observed on her
travels.
The main focus of Gerth is trade of finished goods from Cryllor to the rest of Keoland and the Sheldomar Valley.
Cryford
Cryford, includes the largest town in
Cryllor besides the City. Cryford, originally Cryllor's Ford, is the
southernmost town of the County, directly across the Javan River from
Longspear, an important town within the Yeomanry.
Cryford actually
controls both banks of the river, and straddles the river with regular
barge service connecting the two.
Cryford is an important trade town of
about 2100, both for goods heading further down river to other parts of
Keoland and to ocean trade, and for trade with the Yeomanry.
Gammel
Gammel is a small town of about 1200 people just into the foothills of the Jotens. Over the last few years, the raids from the Orcs have diminished the population.
Lady Merra of House Trelock is the current Ruler. She lives with her family in a single large manor house dominating the northern
section of town. The farther south within town, the cheaper and more rundown the houses get.
There are three small temples, one each to Fharlanghn, Heironeous and St. Cuthbert. Two taverns of note are the Wounded Lion and the Silver Tankard.
Both establishments cater to adventures, mercenaries and caravan attendees. Gammel has one blacksmith, one Inn, two cartwrights and a whole host of smaller businesses.
Gammel is a major hub to the towns of Denlock and Eldmyn. Gammel is also a stop along the County Road to the mines that are held by
the Lady Regent herself on behalf of the Count.
Denlock
Denlock is a small mining community that has grown into a town. Located higher into the Jotens, the town's appearance is slightly different than the rest of Cryllor's towns. Most
buildings are of stone construction and the vast portion is atop a rise that makes the town very defensible.
The current population is about 900 and is ruled by Lord Bartock of House Gerth.
The Lord's manor house is a large, two story stone building that functions as a keep in times of crisis. The small town is currently walled by a wood and earthen palisade.
The population make-up of Denlock is primarily human and dwarven and has swelled considerably with refugees from Sterich and Geoff over the last few years. Work is plentiful and Bartock
is considered a fair and noble ruler. He pays a good wage and rewards efficient workers accordingly.
Denlock is home two blacksmiths, a cartwright and a standard host of smaller and effecient frontier businesses. The town has one chapel dedicated to St. Cuthbert.
The Drunken Miner is the main tavern of this location. The main road out leads to the town of Gammel. Smaller roads lead west deeper into the mountains to individual mines.
