Roots of Rhythm & Blues and The Gospel Train

David April began broadcasting on WRDV-FM on January 20, 1992. The Roots of Rhythm and Blues features blues shouters, jump bands, and vocal groups from the 1940s and 1950s. The Gospel Train celebrates gospel in the African-American tradition including such pioneers as the Soul Stirrers, Mahalia Jackson, Dixie Hummingbirds, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Blind Boys of Mississippi, and many others. Both programs can be heard every Tuesday night from 7-10 PM.
