Sisters,
All
of us at the Greater KC Alumnae Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta are looking forward
to an exciting year. This will be a year marked by new directions and change.
You can literally “see the change” at our web site –
www.kcgammaphibeta.org. Thanks to the tireless work of Jane Heeney, this site has become your
source for up-to-date information
about the activities of the Chapter. And – you can help us keep in touch with
you! If your email or address has changed click on the “contact us” button to
update your information. You have seen another change in the form of
a recent (or soon to be received) letter asking you to continue to support our philanthropic
initiatives. This letter is a critical piece of mail, for as you know
after 45 remarkable years, the Antique Garden and Home Design Show has been
retired after a star-studded career. We don’t want to disappoint the
organizations who have depended on our support for all these years.
Personally, I look at this recent letter as an opportunity to renew my KCPT
membership along with my Gamma Phi Beta Sisters as well as support our other
philanthropies.
Finally, the biggest changes are probably in your own life. Precious
time seems to be in short supply for many of our members and you may be
asking yourself, “What can I possibly do for Gamma Phi Beta this year?”
Regardless of how much time you have – there is a place for you with Gamma
Phi Beta.
If you do nothing else, pay your dues! I would like to personally thank
everyone who has helped put us on track for a record-breaking response to our
annual dues appeal. It is still not too late for the rest of you. If
you have a little more time, please call up a Gamma Phi Beta friend and
attend at least one of the wonderful meetings Nancy Pinto Steen has arranged.
There are additional opportunities for our newest alumnae members planned by
Tina Hoobler and her able committee. How about a reunion table at Founder’s
Day? Check out our web site and this newsletter for more ideas. Remember, Gamma Phi Beta and your sisters
throughout the metropolitan area are worth a few minutes of your time this
year! I look forward to seeing you soon. |
