Text Box: At the March general meeting held at the home of Sue Durrett, a dues increase of $5 per member was approved. This is reflected in the dues notice which is a part of this newsletter. Greater Kansas City Alumnae Chapter dues will be $35; $25 is sent to International and $10 stays in KC. Since $5 has been inadequate to meet the budget needs of the chapter, the members decided that $5 more would allow our chapter to not be so dependent on the Show. Board members will be making the annual calls confirming addresses and phone numbers for all of you. Please respond to these women positively and return Text Box: their calls if you aren’t home when they call. These are necessary if we want our directory to be correct. There is a bit of Show news. The contract has been signed with the Overland Park International Trade Center to hold the 2006 Antiques, Garden & Home Design Show October 12-14, 2006. The Preview Gala will be Wednesday evening October 11th. We are trying a Thursday-Saturday Show because our young alumnae said they would be able to work on Thursday and Friday while children were in school. Weekends are so busy for you young mothers, and we want you to feel a part of this event. Mary Text Box: Carol Garrity of Nell Hills in Atchison will have a new book on tabletops coming out in September, and she has agreed to come to our Show to sign her book and talk to each of you. We are looking forward to that and hope that you are all rejuvenated and ready to go full speed on the 2006 Show. We could still use a Show Coordinator to keep things on track; call me if you are interested. Thanks for a great year as your president.
